Behavioral Mental Health

Counseling is a professional relationship that empowers diverse individuals, families, and couples to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals.

Is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. Professional counselors help clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems which cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem, and promote behavior change and optimal mental health. Counselors work with clients on strategies to overcome obstacles and personal challenges that they are facing. These services are offered to Individuals, Families and Couples which include the provision of insight oriented, cognitive behavioral, and/or supportive therapy interventions.

Help

Refer clients to psychologists, psychiatric and other services. 

Action Plan

Help clients to define goals, plan actions and gain insight. 

Encourage

Encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences.

Develop

Develop therapeutic processes. 

Community

Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve mental health
